McKenna is from Aiken, SC and graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Science. She went on to study wildlife reintroduction and captive breeding at Colorado State University. After graduating with a Master of Biomedical Science Degree in Assisted Reproductive Techniques, McKenna interned in the research department of the Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine, where she investigated the effects of nutrient concentration on embryo metabolism. Her love of research and desire to help women has made clinical embryology the perfect career for her. She’s also enjoying her new home in Mt. Pleasant where she lives with her cat Charlie.
