At age 48, my husband and I still had the hope, desire and vision of having a child. After my annual appointment with my gynecologist, he suggested me entertaining the idea of an egg donor. Well, we had heard of the term sperm donors, but I did not know there was such a thing as an egg donor. He then specifically referred me to an Infertility-Reproductive Endocrinologist by the name of Dr. John A. Schnorr. My husband and I had been on previous journeys with varieties of infertility specialist, but we still believed our miracle would still come to pass, so without hesitation we immediately made an appointment.

The journey of hope continued when we arrived at the fertility clinic and were graciously greeted by the staff. The staff were very informative and eased our apprehensions preparing us for decisions of a miracle life. Finally meeting Dr. Schnorr and reviewing all possibilities he took us from hope to reality. At this age it was not a healthy option to use my own eggs, therefore the decision to obtain an egg donor was the ideal option. Through this journey there were several emotional hurdles and Dr. Schnorr and his staff (especially Cari Maness the Clinical Manager and her assistant Chyrl Benjamin) were professional and inspirational motivating us to overcome the hurdles during this process.

It has been said you are never too old for dreams to come true. Whoever quoted that saying we wondered if they had us in mind; because after 30 years of marriage the dream of us having a child has been made a reality. We are home and currently 16 weeks pregnant as of the result of the expertise of Dr. Schnorr and his staff.
