Fertility Preservation (Egg Freezing)

Egg Freezing

Another important aspect of our practice at Coastal Fertility Specialists is fertility preservation. Egg freezing in particular may help individuals preparing for cancer treatment or those seeking to delay reproduction.

Coastal Fertility Specialists has the largest egg freezing program in the state of South Carolina through it’s association with Donor Egg Bank USA. Through this association Coastal Fertiltiy Specialists contributes a large number of frozen eggs to the national donor egg program allowing us to refine the technically challenging egg freezing process.

What does this mean for you? Of all the services reproductive endocronology centers provide egg freezing is the most technically challenging. Our high volume of egg freezing helps your eggs have the advantages of our extensive egg freezing experience.

As a fellow, Dr. Schnorr was awarded the American Society for Reproductive Medicine’s Highest Award, the “General Program Prize Paper” in San Diego in October 2000 for his research on ovarian tissue cryopreservation (ovarian tissue freezing). This has led him to initiate programs in ovarian tissue cryopreservation, ovarian transplantation and egg cryopreservation (egg freezing) here in the Lowcountry.

Most recently, Dr. Schnorr has worked diligently to develop an egg freezing program and is proud to be the physician with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd babies born in South Carolina from oocyte cryopreservation (egg freezing). Pictured above is Dr. Schnorr with the Carters and their twins Easton and Savannah, the 2nd and 3rd oocyte cryopreservation babies in South Carolina.

At Coastal Fertility Specialists, we are dedicated to bringing the best in reproductive medicine care to South Carolina and the Lowcountry by offering options for you now and in the future.
