We Know Infertility Can Be Challenging
Fertility should be a natural event that should happen in the privacy of your own home. Many patients are afraid to ask for help fearing they will find out they can never get pregnant. The truth is that seeing a specialist is not giving up but rather getting experts involved to help you with your care. There is no form of infertility we can’t overcome and we have never told someone that they can’t get pregnant. You don’t need permission or a referral to see us. There is no commitment and most couples conceive with simple forms of infertility treatment.
Success at our infertility centers throughout South Carolina and Savannah, GA, is “taking home a baby”. We are so confident in our abilities to help you conceive we offer financial programs that will refund you up to 100% of the costs of your treatment if you are unsuccessful.
Through the work of our outstanding staff, Coastal Fertility Specialists assists patients in virtually every aspect of infertility and reproductive endocrinology. By appropriately selecting from the most advanced diagnostic tools, we work to determine the underlying cause of infertility. From there, we develop an individualized plan to give every individual, couple and same-sex partnerships the best chance of achieving a successful pregnancy.

Dr.Schnorr, Dr. Slowey, Dr. Cook and Dr. McLaughlin are board certified in Reproductive Endocrinology as well as in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Collectively they have over 70 years combined clinical experience in some of the premier centers in the United States. Their combined experience has resulted in them performing over 30,000 ovulation induction and intrauterine insemination cycles, 12,000 in-vitro fertilization and donor egg cycles with pregnancy rates that are among the top in the country. Their high pregnancy rates are due to their emphasis on both the clinical side and laboratory side of your care.
Drs. Schnorr, Slowey, Cook and McLaughlin also constitute the Reproductive Endocrine Division of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), which in 2020, for the sixth consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report named MUSC Health the No. 1 hospital in South Carolina. Our association with MUSC brings the resources of one of South Carolina’s finest universities to our practice.
Patient and Staff Satisfaction
Our fundamental belief is that having infertility is hard and success requires thoughtful persistence. The only way someone can be persistent in infertility treatment is to be cared for by a center that is compassionate, nurturing and responsive to your needs. Acting on our beliefs and core values day in and day out, CFS has won the IntegraMed National Highest Patient Satisfaction Award for three consecutive years! Our consecutive awards are unprecedented in IntegraMed’s history as a network that comprised over 33 premier fertility centers providing over 33% of all IVF cycles performed in the United States!

State of the Art Laboratory
We believe top tier pregnancy rates come from top tier embryology laboratories. At the laboratory level, we believe a centralized lab allows us to better focus our attention and resources on continually developing and improving our laboratory over time. Developing and maintaining a high quality embryology laboratory is an incredibly expensive and time consuming process which our patients benefit from as evidenced by our pregnancy rates. Our high pregnancy rates are not accidental. We are in the minority of IVF centers by employing our own, full time, on site laboratory director, Dr. Jeff Gray, PhD who directs our lab with the guidance of several off site consultants.
Coastal Fertility Specialists has chosen and passed the highest standards in laboratory accreditation. We are members of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART) and are fully accredited as a high complexity laboratory from the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA), the College of American Pathologists (CAP), The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF).View Our Success Rates & Laboratory Protocols

Another important aspect of our practice at Coastal Fertility Specialists is fertility preservation. This may help individuals preparing for cancer treatment or those seeking to delay reproduction. As a fellow, Dr. Schnorr was awarded the American Society for Reproductive Medicine’s Highest Award, the “General Program Prize Paper” in San Diego in October 2000 for his research on ovarian tissue cryopreservation. This has led him to initiate programs in ovarian tissue cryopreservation, ovarian transplantation and oocyte cryopreservation here in the Lowcountry.
Most recently, Dr. Schnorr has worked hard to develop an oocyte cryopreservation (egg freezing) program and is proud to be the physician with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd babies born in South Carolina from oocyte cryopreservation.
