Coastal Fertility at a Distance, powered by Cycle Clarity Connections
We are thrilled to announce Coastal Fertility at a Distance, a new patient care monitoring program for those patients who live greater than an hour from a Coastal Fertility office. Coastal Fertility at a Distance provides access to our award winning Coastal Fertility care and success rates with 90% of your visits being performed in your home town. Coastal Fertility at a Distance is enabled by new, FDA approved, AI software developed by Cycle Clarity that enables your local OB/GYN specialist to provide follicular monitoring ultrasounds as accurately as a fertility specialists.
Through Cycle Clarity’s harnessing of AI and computing power, Cycle Clarity can receive a 10 second ultrasound video of your right and left ovaries transmitted over the internet directly from your OB/GYN’s office. That video is then analyzed by Cycle Clarity and provided to Coastal Fertility where your doctor can review both of the ovaries, determine where the follicles are, how many are present and their respective sizes. This allows your Coastal Fertility doctor to see your entire ovary from top to bottom as easily as if you were in the office. Your Coastal Fertility physician can then make dosing decisions as accurately as if you were in a Coastal office for care.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Cycle Clarity accurate? Cycle Clarity is an FDA cleared AI software platform that is able to detect, count and measure each of the follicles in your ovary. In the FDA clinical trials the Cycle Clarity software was as accurate as a Reproductive Endocrinologist performing the ultrasounds. Most manual ultrasounds take 10 minutes. Cycle Clarity does the ultrasound in 10 seconds per ovary. The power of computing. 🙂
How long does the ultrasound take? A Cycle Clarity ultrasound typically takes 10 second per ovary and is then directly transmitted through the internet to Cycle Clarity. Cycle Clarity will verify the receipt of the images and quality of the images before you leave the OBGYN office. The Coastal Fertility ultrasonographers and doctors will review the images typically before noon and the dosing decisions will be made by 2 pm.
Do I need hormone testing? One of the many benefits of Cycle Clarity is that every follicle is measured in your ovary giving your medical team all of the information they typically need to make dosing decisions. The Coastal Fertility doctors recommend an estradiol level after the first 3 days of your medications and repeat hormone levels the day before your egg retrieval.
How does my Coastal Fertility doctor receive my results? The Coastal Fertility doctors have been using Cycle Clarity for over 3 years and will receive your results instantly through the Cycle Clarity platform. The Cycle Clarity platform allows the Coastal Fertility team to see your entire ovary to verify the measurements AI makes. It also allows the team to add and delete follicles if necessary and to predict the optimal time for insemination or egg retrieval.
When do I need to come to Coastal Fertility? The process would start with a telehealth consultation. South Carolina law then requires a physical examination and in person visit before medication treatment can be provided. We would therefore need to meet you in person for a history and physical in one of our 5 offices to establish care. Following that, treatment can be started with your local OB/GYN monitoring you. If you are doing IVF treatment, we would then need you in our Mount Pleasant, SC office for care between your 10 and 14th day of medications for the final hormone testing and egg retrieval. We have developed a wonderful Coastal Fertility concierge package including hotel, spa and dinner recommendations so you can pamper yourself, Charleston Style!
How much does Cycle Clarity cost? Cycle Clarity costs $236 for one month of service, unlimited ultrasounds. One month of service should cover one Coastal Fertility treatment cycle. Your OB/GYN would charge you or your insurance for your ultrasound. There would be no additional Coastal Fertility charges for the use of Cycle Clarity.
What type of cycles can I do with Coastal at a Distance? Coastal at a Distance can be used for ovulation induction and intrauterine insemination, In Vitro Fertilization, frozen embryo transfers and Egg Donation.
How do I get my OB/GYN involved? If you would like to move forward with care after your Coastal Fertility Telehealth consultation, reach out to your OB/GYN to see if they would be willing to help you with your ultrasounds. Following that Cycle Clarity will take over…
